In January 1975, Nutter’s of Savile Row held an exhibition of avant-garde tailoring designs at the Lajeski Gallery in New York. The exhibits were primarily suits that Edward had cut for David Nutter’s circle of close friends, each of whom David photographed in a Nutter’s suit expressly for the exhibition. This three-piece suit is typical of the period, with a low-fastening double-breasted cut, dramatic up-swept shoulders and very generous lapels. The grosgrain edge tape on the jacket also became a Nutter’s of Savile Row signature that Edward Sexton still offers clients today.
